The Queen #WDYS

The Queen

Each morning
When eastern rim glows pink,
The queen of flowers spreads her soft hands,
Allures her admirers with her fragrance
to kiss her delicate visage.

She waltzes for a second
To gather the beams of morning sun,
To shake off the the silence of spring dewdrops,
To intoxicate bees and butterflies,
And be the pride of Mother Nature.

Alone she enjoys the moment
With tranquil delight in her eyes,
Lilting with life
She breathes a message of giving,
Giving all that she can offer.

Riding on the wings of spring
She savors the bumblebee’s buzz
Flaunts her seasonal charm
Ephemeral beauty that fades fast
Like a melting candle.

Behind the Door

The door that locked me in,
The door that became my canvas,
Ignited my creativity,
Stirred my numb mind,
I’m glad I sat behind this door.

The door that barred my way,
The door that nurtured my mirages,
Peeping outside was a sin.
It taught me to look within.
I’m glad I lived within.

The door that kept beckoning,
The door that argued assertively,
Chasing a false future is futile.
Clinging to past imperfections, pallid.
I’m glad it taught me!

The door that I shunned willingly,
The door that I kept closed
To emerge saner, subtle minded.
Positive vibes carried me far.
I’m glad it nurtured me!

The door that sparked curiosity,
The door that I broke open,
Delusions died with the door.
Realism was stark and stormy.
I’m glad I could break free!

Away from dark corridors of the mind,
Abandoning all fears behind that door.
I move into the realms of my choice,
Into the world of love and peace.
I look forward to the new world!

Golden Moments #WDYS

Golden Moments

When books were my only friends,
my only confidants,
I sat at my desk for hours,
collecting pearls of all the colors.

Pink pearls were fascinating
Invisible within the  words,
they bled all night
Lending their hues to the paper.

Behind the blinds,
in the streets, dusk dwelled for a while,
Giggled with the glow worms,
merged into darkness.

Captivated by the words
I sat, sipping my mocha
sweeter than the stories of eons,
Oblivious of night fairies that beckoned.

Languages bowed before me
I savored their flavors
Those were the golden moments
When history spoke to me.

Our House #WDYS

That house on the hill,
Surrounded by the trees,
still whispers your love
Love that never fades, never dies.

Love – a brocade of memories
Love – an electrifying echo
Shimmers each morning with the first ray of the sun,
diffuses golden kisses at the western horizon.

Love that rides on moonbeams
To descend in my backyard
and sing luscious lullabies
To fill the vacuum in my heart.

Ensconced in this house,
Cradled by memorable moments,
Your love is still my velvety blanket
that keeps me warm on freezing nights.

mirth drenched moments
that could never lose luster
dainty daffodils
pour passion with the dew of
eternal togetherness.

moments cling to me
walls swallow echoes of past
spring whispers linger
ticking clock reminds me of
the time’s tyranny.

memories numb me
swallowed by the tide of time.
I study each wave
and step into the glum hours
to slide on the silky edges.
