Summer Fun #WDYS #TankaTuesday

I sit
in the bubbles
some blessings come like that
I dive into the bright colors,
to choose
the one that matches your love for me
and calmly watch the joy
that glistens on
your face.

***

Surfing
enhances the fun,
summer heat dissipates
just like the illusionary
colors
that bestow bubbly enchantment
so many rainbows dance
A healing touch –
freedom!

Thanks to Sadje for the pictorial inspiration #WDYS 344.

Thanks to Yvette and Colleen for the inspiration to write syllabic poetry. I’ve written two Butterfly Cinquains.

The Butterfly Cinquain is an unrhymed, nine-line syllabic poem. It has 2-4-6-8-2-8-6-4-2 syllables per line.

Thank you for reading my poetry. For more poetry, hang out with  Hues Of Hope

The Last Gift

This ordinary piece of paper
Which conceals all…
Those unheard words, whimsical wishes
Eternal entreaties, abiding aspirations
A dazzling display of words
May seem insignificant to you.

This letter – the last attempt to persuade you,
To remind you
Of the moments etched on our hearts,
Of the hours that walked with us,
Of the words that ignited us,
You know them so well.

This treasure, signed with the same love
That we lost in the maelstrom of life
Please consider it as my last gift,
A gentle flame that still flickers
Despite the death
That’s knocking at my door.

A Unique Bond

Reliable,
a touch that lingers
a grip
of love
moments of delight
treasure that bond.

A mute kinship,
snug affinity
breathing,
cuddling –
a profound message
to remember.

Thanks to Colleen and Melissa for the inspiration to write syllabic poetry. The challenge this week is to write a Hautt, which is:
unrhymed.
content driven; it pursues “wisdom and eternal truth”;
a hexastich, a poem in six lines;
syllabic, 4-5-2-2-5-4 syllables per line.

I have tried to write two of them, with the same theme.

Many thanks to Sadje for a beautiful image for #Whatdoyousee prompt – 333.

Moments that Echo

Grandma clicked this picture
How many moons ago
I don’t know.

What I know is that she
Captured the joy of the moment,
the love that could never fade,
the beaming faces, the stars in the eyes,
the eternal hug – sibling bonding etched forever.

Royal robes of Mother Nature
fluttered in the fall breeze
Dad stood behind us,
Could there be a better symbol
of childhood innocence and parental pride?

Ah! How that love melts!
Time dust turns into rust;
The coating gets thicker each day,
Echoes of longing refuse to subside
as I look at this precious picture.
