Love Calls #WDYS

Love Calls

Near my bedroom window
A pine tree sways on moonlit nights
Its branches almost touching the wall,
Casting scary shadows.

An owl loves this pine
HOO hoo hoo, it sings in a high-pitched tone
Hoo…oo is the softer but deeper response
A duet of alternating calls continues.

I fall asleep to their rhythmic love calls,
Piercing through my anguished heart
Wishing to fly away to far off lands
To sing a song that gets a response.

I walk into the dreamy mist,
Knowing well that the path is obscure.
Shrouded in a hazy halo,
Two flickering lights reveal my love.

He stands muted, where the path bends,
Unable to move, as if embedded in stone.
The path keeps drifting,
The mist gets denser.

HOO hoo hoo, the sound returns,
Hoo…oo, sings the responder.

  1. Beautifully expressed, Balroop. 💜 Love has such a quiet yet powerful way of reaching the heart, often beyond what words can capture. Your verses carry warmth, tenderness, and a lovely sense of longing. Truly beautiful. ✨🌷
