Island We loved

fantasy
Sue Vincent’s #Writephoto

Each morning we would rush out
To swim to the ‘Angel Island’
Inhabited by colorful fairies
We wanted to live that belief.

Ah! The magic of moments…
Enamored by the beauty around us
We made it our second home
Summer brought those blessings.

Showered with rose petals
We sailed into another world
A realm unknown to man
Where melodies of nature charmed.

Immersed in the poetry of water
We walked the magical path
Flowery beds beckoned us
We smiled sinking deep into reveries.

Intoxicated by the arabesque of fairies
We too twirled with joy
Friendship is a celestial gift –
Unequivocal and unparalleled.

Dark Clouds

Sue Vincent’s #Writephoto

When dark clouds gather around the horizon
When they are summoned by a sunny moor
When sunshine subsides willingly
It is time for nostalgia…

Memories arrive within moments
Paper boats float all around,
Even before the first drop falls
Musical notes glide in the air.

Breeze blows away stressful thoughts,
It softly taps on our hearts
To rejoice in the aura of setting
And soar with the soothing skies.

Oh! The joy of drifting into the arms of breeze
A gentle rustling touch!
It is more like a lullaby
Breathing eternal calm.

A world of warmth and carefree comfort
Unfolds with kind caresses
And steady drizzle of unconditional love,
Like those celestial drops of rain.

Dreamland

dream
Sue Vincent’s #Writephoto

Purple robes of Mother Nature
In sync with her dreams
How long has she yearned for them?
I stand spellbound.

Celebrations start at dawn
Only couples are invited
Royal robes flutter fragrance
Sun shies away.

A whisper rides on breeze:
Far away from the land of conflicts
Welcome to the domain of dreams
Love blooms here.

Skeptics – please stay away
Echoes of love might devour your designs
We hold harmony in our hearts
Tethered to respect for all.

Silvery Serenity

silver-1-2
Sue Vincent’s #Writephoto

Drowning in watery wails
I try to clutch the waning light
My eyes wander in a wild pursuit
Knowing not what they want.

What is this weird place?
Silver glistens in the sky
Lending its sparkle to waves
Not a soul in sight.

Who dumped me here?
A wilderness of my dreams
At least I can breathe!
Hope shimmers amid dark dunes

Barefoot I walk toward horizon
I would carve my way
Out of apathy and derision.
Desolation doesn’t dissuade me.

Soaking in silvery serenity
I exult at my new world
All shackles fell apart
Traces of humanity linger.

The Dark Pool

cascade
Sue Vincent’s #Writephoto

They stumbled upon a pool
A dead pool, stagnant.
Striving to breathe,
Bereft of the elixir of life.

Cascading stream fell silent
The day avarice ate the woods
Paths around it closed in support
Rocks reiterate man’s ruse.

Stranded near a watery grave,
With parched throats
They wait, wondering
Is there a way out of this wilderness?

How did they stray so far?
Edges extending to eternity
The ceaseless drift of nature
Reinforcing her mystic hold.

The only way out – walk slowly
Listen to vibes of Mother Nature
Her whispers are best mentors
She knows how to forgive.
