Game Over!
Spellbound, blinded by your entreaties
I sit and wait
to see the light of the day
Promises peer through paper
Are you still around?
Is the game over?
My glass is empty
Darkness is overwhelming
Eyelids echo a thousand thunderbolts.
A jolt from within wakes me
A hand, warmer than yours
can be felt on my shoulder.
Wind chimes distract my thoughts
A koel calms the clouds
Morning bliss whispers cheer
Birds play with the wind
Need I feel trapped?
A beacon cuts through the fog.
The quitting sensation,
The final walk —
lighter than clouds
The merger, the satisfaction.
I know this is the end
But I wear newly carved lenses now.

It’s a pleasure dear friend.
I can feel this. And the ending is profound. Will we indeed wear newly carved lenses? Makes one wonder.

What a wonderful piece of poem. I felt each phrase. Game Over takes on such a thoughtful perspective and speaks of trusting the path walked. Knowing it’s the end and a turning point is always such a good feeling. Beautifully written as always, Balroop 😊
