I #Love You Because… #PoetryPrompt

I Love You

Your love was an ocean – silent yet intense,
Calm in the midst of turbulence
Giving all you had, making no claims.
How could I not love you?

The day I merged in your cyan
You embraced me with the undulation of waves,
Letting me be what I wanted to be.
How could I not love you?

Your love was like a horizon,
That swallows the ocean
Stretching far beyond the azure skies.
How could I not love you?

Sometimes, like a gentle drizzle
Soaking me like a verdure vine
Breezing through my soul, seeking solace
How could I not love you?

The glow of your love lingers
It has mingled with my blood
No longer at the mercy of physical presence,
Moments of love caress your loss.

Pleasure Seekers #Poetry

Pleasure Seekers

Crowds scare me
And a crammed beach?
Not for me!

The waves lose their rhythm,
Their crescendo gets mixed up.
Human voices drown their melody.

Then there are the surfers
Who block the spectacular view
Their pleasure can’t match mine.

When beach becomes Times Square
When faces become an ocean
Halcyon horizon vanishes.

The magic of merging into the unknown,
The breezy caress of whirling waves
Passes by unnoticed.

New Dawn

New Dawn

Dawn dissipates darkness
An ocean within me turns.
Traipsing on the waves of hope
I hold the strings of a new day.

It’s time to embrace the dawn,
Hold the glow in my heart
Let the light seep into my bones
Learn from the horizon.

Magical moments don’t last –
They come like waves,
Break into a calm whisper,
Breathe life into each element.

A wake-up call to gather the remnants,
To merge into the mysteries around us
To walk with the shroud of light
And smile once again.

Acceptance

It’s the time to wrap the clouds
around my shoulders –
A veil of darkness and
its chilly tremors persist.

Light laden sky opens up
a wondrous canvas.
Colors merge around the sun
descending down for the day.

Shadows of time hold
the racing seconds to hear whispers.
Knots of life yarn get firmer
The fading glow percolates into the soul.

Another solo travel awaits
An unwilling step forward
through the stormy avenues –
An unavoidable maze.
