Spiritual Vibes

I
walked
with my muse
last night, drowsy
but awake, eager
to see where she takes me.
She took me into the land
full of ethereal beauty,
brimming with spiritual silence –
an offer to look within, to forgive.

The silence percolated within me.
A gossamer veil caressed my face
my spirit soared to touch the vibes
emitted by pagoda.
Twenty steps I climbed,
each one cleansed my heart
divine power
pulled me in.
A new
dawn.

Thanks to Colleen and Yvette for the inspiration to write syllabic poetry. The challenge this week is to “focus on the idea of cleansing. You can choose to go with purification or atonement, if you’d like. Find a syllabic poetry form that works for you, and let your inspiration flow.” 

I have written a double Etheree. 

An Etheree is a type of poem which consists of 10 lines of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 syllables. Etheree can also be reversed and written 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. So it is called a double Etheree.

Thanks to Robbie and Colleen for the inspiration to write syllabic poetry. The challenge this week is to write a poem using the concept of an oxymoron. I’ve tried to write two Kimo to illustrate the meaning of oxymoron.

A Kimo poem is an Israeli form of haiku (untitled) that has three lines with a 10-7-6 syllable format and which does not rhyme.

Mystic Folds

Some landscapes are incredibly dazzling. It’s hard to believe that they are naturally formed marvels. Surrounded by the shades of orange and red, I stand by the swirling sandstone, awestruck by the centuries-old folds. I can hear the timeless sounds that echo the wondrous power of nature. The brilliant glow of the setting sun conjures a strange spiritual connection with the layered symphonies – so pure yet so wild!
