shrouded in dark robes
I watch the buds celebrate
green moments of joy
each one, a grim reminder –
golden days never tarry.
***
night fairies calm me
starry nights scatter silver
darkness melts at last
pink horizon scares shadows,
promises a path of primroses

Thanks to Colleen for the inspiration to write syllabic poetry. This week, the challenge is “to use color as a metaphor, and write a poem connected to your favorite season.”
When darkness envelops you, favorites get diluted. However, I’ve tried to write two Tanka poems.
My new poetry book is dedicated to such blogger buddies for inspiring me to learn and write syllabic poetry. If you like poetry, please click on the link to look inside

stunning! ❤ 😃😍😍😍
Thank you, Carol.
Loved the lines, “darkness melts at last
pink horizon scares shadows”
Thank you, Parikhit.
What a very vivid piece, Balroop! 👍☺️
Thank you, Aptivi. 🤗
My pleasure, Balroop! ☺️
I love the last two lines. While I like darkness because it’s quiet and lets me think, it’s the first sight of dawn that I find most calming.
That’s an insightful thought, Smitha. When we learn to accept darkness, dawn acquires a new dimension. Thank you for sharing your reflections. 🥰
I love the how well you blended the emotions into the colors, Balroop. Beautiful.
I am glad you liked it. Thank you Denise.
Beautiful poems, Balroop! I love “green moments of joy” and the second verse resonated, especially the last two lines. By the way, I just ordered my paperback of your book. I know I’m a little slow, but I look forward to reading it and wish you an abundance of success. 💕
Thank you so much, Lauren. It’s nice to see you. I’m glad you like these poems.
