Just Her Poetry #NewRelease

Just Her Poetry

I am delighted to welcome my blogger friend D.L.Finn to celebrate the release of her first poetry book, “Just Her Poetry Seasons of a Soul.”  You would be touched by realism in her poetry, which is inspired from Nature and seasons.

Finn Facts:

  1. I watch the Bachelor/Bachelorette shows, even when I announce I’m not going to. I hope for love to win, even in the strangest of circumstances.
  2. My favorite flower is a rose. Its beauty mesmerizes me, while its scent relaxes me. I always keep a bottle of rosewater with me.

Blurb:

Take a journey with D.L. Finn as she blends her love of nature with her deepest emotions. Sit with her on the forest floor observing its tranquil beauty, or stroll along the ocean’s shore admiring the vastness of its horizon. Here in these peaceful moments you’ll be able to experience her thoughts and feelings in the light—and in the darkness. This is a thought-provoking collection of poetry that invites the reader into all the seasons of a soul.

Excerpt FROM THE BOOK WORLD:

EVILDWELS MOVE ON

(based on This Second Chance and The Button)

Evildwels cannot exist where there is love.

But if there is doubt, fear, and hate they thrive.

They do their best to extinguish any love,

While feeding on the absence of it.

They only win with their own conquests.

Their hunger fed as they discard their victim.

Time is irrelevant to them…

As they search for the rage they need.

It seems to be in abundance for them.

They can pick their cream of the crop

…And then wipe it out.

The battle can be bleak and boundless

…Between good and evil.

But ultimately, it is evil that loses,

When good repairs the broken soul

…It is the stronger of the two.

It may lose the battle but always wins the war,

Then the good in love becomes the happy ending.

Evildwels move on…searching and waiting

For the cruel satisfaction of temporary hosts

In a moment where love is wiped away

Until love re-emerges…and the evildwel moves on.

Finally, being surrounded by towering pines, oaks, and cedars, her creativity was nurtured until it bloomed. Her creations vary from children’s books, young adult fantasy, and adult paranormal romance to an autobiography with poetry. Who is Weak?

The strong and the mighty
Try to push you around
Whatever the weather
They don’t want you together

“Why are you happy?
How could you…without me?
I hold the power
How dare you flower?”

Is it jealousy or arrogance?
Lack of love or loneliness?
Humility at their feet,
They trample you with conceit

Domineering seems to be their right
Insecurities weaken their hearts
Love vibes refuse to step-in,
Aggression is their sole weapon

Yet they fail to snatch smiles
Which build bridges across miles
Little houses are a haven of peace
They offer you ethereal ease.

Reality and Imagination

Street art depicting a woman's face
Sue Vincent’s #PhotoPrompt

Brooding eyes, blasé yet discreet
Discerning depth of dark images
Wriggling away from the light
That glows to glean truth

Unstated grievances creep out
When I look within
All of you crawl like worms
Some faces visibly distraught

The artist could see you
My illusionary veil couldn’t shroud
Graphic secrets of thoughts
That groan under pictorial patterns

Onlookers may admire the art
Only I know the depth it conceals
Come and alleviate agonies
Shared stories satiate emotions.

A craving

Frozen figure
Myths of Mirror #WritingPrompt

Frozen in time
With amorphia of ages
I sat waiting for love
It did come at last!

They came in hordes
With shovels and hoes
To dig around me
And create a cover

I am awning them
With arrows piercing my soul
Blinded by dirt and deceit
I crave for a new world

My faith in smithereens
My perceptions upbeat
Each storm whittling away
Gold of my sun

Internal injuries expand
Putrefying precious limbs
Blood flows through fissures
But freezes

Silvery glow refuses to fade
Spring smiles at the horizon
Promising to alleviate affliction
And apathy of ages.

Magic of Holidays

A fairy bringing holiday joy

My favorite fairy has arrived

With magic in her pockets

And loads of holiday love!

I can feel the thrill of

Her sparkling silvery powder

Mesmerizing me

With its fragrance!

She lifts me to carry

Into her enchanted world

Of stars, of peace

To recline upon her pillows

And soak in moments

of celestial joy.
