Footprints that Inspire

Life is not like sand dunes that keep shifting
Each moment matters, each step is judged.

Life hangs in the pendulum of time
Echoing myriad memories that are indelible.

Like the morning blaze
That spreads and melts into the clouds,

Like the heavenly horizon that blinks
at the rosy hues to widen and wait for more,

Like the twenty thousand rays around
the yellow disc that inspires the day.

Sand stands in testimony to the footprints
They may seem to vanish but are embedded.

  1. Balroop, wow! Your poem is profound and beautiful, one that touches me soul. I kept returning to this stanza:

‘Life hangs in the pendulum of time
Echoing myriad memories that are indelible. ‘ Simply inspired and inspirational!

  2. Very thoughtfully written. Starts off with some trepidation and then builds towards something inspiring. It might be a tough road, but it’s one step at a time, one footprint, an impact. Love how you described the sun, ‘Like the twenty thousand rays around – the yellow disc’ You make the sun sound so warm. Great writing, Balroop 🙂

  3. Very nice Balroop! Every step is leaving something behind and for happy memories it’s a good thing even if we’d rather like sad ones to be erased. At least we can look behind and see how far we’ve come.

Really like the images of your poem too.

      1. I’m amazed at my memories. I find that when I write, so many crop up. And I hope that through writing, we also discover aspects of our Soul that were hidden. Your poetry does a lot of uncovering, Balroop.
