sometimes the veil is unpredictable
a silence lurks behind
magical or deceptive!

when the enchanter offers his attire
wear his silvery shimmer
walk with him to explore

the woods, the web, the light, the ink of night
a perfect blend of life but
green love enthralls the soul.

Thank you Colleen for a unique prompt. The challenge this week is to choose a card (above) from the “Dream Your Joy Oracle Cards” by Judy Mastrangelo.  Look at each card and pick the one (or all) that speaks to you. You can write about the image or something in the image that grabs your attention. Let the card speak to you.

I have tried to interpret the cards with three kimo poems.

What Remains…#Poetry #WDYS

What Remains…

Clouds confer in the calm mirror
Of emerald lake
Is this house habitable?

They had seen happier times,
Watched winsome faces
Heard the squeals of delight.

When children converged by the lake
Their games charmed Mother Nature
Spellbound, she let the spring linger just for them.

Time robbed those carefree days
How fast did they grow!
From Kindergarten to High School.

The house grew quieter each day
As the youngsters flew away
In pursuit of their dreams.

Now autumn rests here
With her muted colors and limp leaves
Crimson couldn’t capture the fleeting joy.

Carved into the mirror of the lake
Are memories that march silently
Seen only by the clouds.

If You Were Here… #PicturePrompt – #WDYS

If You Were Here…

A gentle hug of Mother Nature
Pulls me out.
In connivance with the wind,
She showers pink petals
To cheer me up.

Still tied to shadows,
I glance at the beauty, the blossoms
And think…
If you were here
We would’ve walked under this pink canopy.

Placid water reflects my image
And you wave at me
Your endearing smile says:
“Your presence enhances the beauty.”
For a moment, your voice echoes

And then your face fades,
Jolting my heart with a renewed shudder
Cherry trees catch the signal,
Spread some more petals around me.
Draping your memories, I walk alone.

#Kouta #Syllabic #Poetry

View from my window

misty morning beckons me
through the wide window
autumn sky waits for first glow
dewy dawn delights.

I step out to feel the air
a sudden chill pulls me back
cloak of the sun gets warmer
wind casts her magic.

Clouds drift to reveal the sun
first rays melt my muse
she confers with the colors
and creates this verse.

Thanks to Colleen for the inspiration to write syllabic poetry.

The kigo word I chose – Autumn Sky

The kouta is a Japanese verse form, usually consisting of four lines but sometimes five, that tends to celebrate the average person’s everyday life in song. The most common variants seem to be 7/5/7/5 and 7/7/7/5, though these are only two possible variations.

Many thanks to all the readers who’ve read my latest release and shared their fabulous reviews of my poetry book –  Fusion – my latest release. This week, Colleen has shared her review of Fusion. Thank you!

divesting
dreary summer robes
the landscape
shimmers with
magnificent crimson and
autumn kissed, limp leaves.

new attire
accentuates hues,
darkened by
autumn sun
changing the connotation
of transient decay.

just behold!
autumn sunsets that
add beauty
to branches
adorned with ochre and red
some greens smile through them.

A Shadorma consists of a six-line stanza (or sestet). Each stanza is written as 3-5-3-3-7-5 for a total of 26 syllables with no set rhyme scheme.
