#Shadorma 24 #Seasons…

Sweltering Heat

Blazing sun,
unrelenting heat
festivals
of summer
don’t allure me any more
sunscreens are irksome.

***

we all wait
for the winds to change
sit indoors
and enjoy
soft peaches and nectarines
the only delight!

***

summer naps
lonely afternoons
my muse nudges
to write more
poems about moonlit nights
supreme self-comfort!

Thanks to Colleen for the inspiration to write syllabic poetry. I’ve written a string of Shadorma. My Kigo words have been highlighted.

A Shadorma consists of a six-line stanza (or sestet). Each stanza is written as 3-5-3-3-7-5 for a total of 26 syllables with no set rhyme scheme. When writing a Shadorma, concentrate on a specific subject. Shadorma needs a title.

#Summer #Heat 24 Seasons…

Growing heat grounds us
a cloudless sky is sizzling
elusive sea breeze

~

The longest heat wave
uncontrollable wildfires
A blazing summer

~

The ducks swim calmly
even the sun dives in
seeking some respite

No leaf is stirring
wind chimes are quiet today
blasé birds sit confused

~

A bizarre battle –
indignant Mother Nature
mankind is callous!

Colors

Glow of sun
Sue Vincent’s #Writephoto

The day sun descended
With all his fire
To dilute the heat
Even clouds forgot to peep

I watched with a gasp
When an azure pool
Changed its color
Heat flew like splinters

Mother earth endured all
Breathing quiet messages
Branches stoop to offer shade
Moments of harmony sway

Now this pool knows magic
As it changes colors
Passion and serenity meet here
Moon lends its silvery glow.
