I See You in the Clouds – #PicturePrompt: WDYS

I See You in the Clouds

A moment etched in time
A moment to cherish
A moment that was ours,
When we were together
When we rejoiced,
Our laughter louder than the rumble of drums – must be, I am sure.

I could only conjure those times.

When they let you merge with flames,
I could only wonder why we were so unfortunate
Why the demon of death chose you
Though we needed you more than him.

Wrapped in your velvety touch,
I must’ve felt warmer than the sun
I remember how much you cared for my wishes
I know how much you were proud of me.

I see you in the clouds, always thinking of us
I know your brilliance merged with the sun,
Adding glory to its hues
To let it percolate and warm us.

When people tell me ‘you’re brave,’ I think of you
When they say ‘you exude confidence,’ I think of you
I know you left your virtues within me
I was little when you departed but I can still see you.

#TankaTuesday – Synonyms only

Image from my patio

Time twinkles and glows
a fraction of an hour pauses
watch the spectacle!
the horizon celebrates
the design of hued twilight.

The Doomed – #PicturePrompt #WDYS

The Doomed

Murkier than my thoughts,
Ear-shattering silence surrounds me
The pretense of closing my eyes,
The façade of calmness hides the ache of eons.

Emotional waves often engulf me,
Societal shears have claimed chunks –
My heart is no longer the same,
Having incised too many times.

Am I alive? You may surmise so.
Do they ever ask?
Who has the time to stand
And look into the eyes of the doomed?

My only savior – my muse steps in,
Kicks me out of my trance –
“Willow’s attire doesn’t suit you,” she whispers,
“Get up and drape the suit of spring.”

#TankaTuesday – Taiga

pristine clouds seem like
angels about to descend
will they spray magic,
drenching me with divine love?
mesmerizing spectacle.

#TankaTuesday is back! Thank you dear Colleen for the inspiration to write syllabic poetry.

For challenge no. 1, Colleen invites interested writers to create a taiga, and the caveat is to use a black and white image, paired with a syllabic poem. A taiga is a tanka and an image.

Thank you for reading my poetry.

Alone? #Pictureprompt

Alone?

Alone? Not really.
Existing on a barren land? No!
Rivulets of your love flow within me.

A soul soaked with love knows –
Time may have robbed the smiles and colors
How will he rip off your love?

There are many more like me,
Standing tall – we have some life left
In the landscape that needs your love.

Rooted in time, transcending beyond eternity
We derive light from each other
And wait for our nimbus.

There were happier times,
Joy bounced around us
Clouds cared to keep us moist.

Bathing in the ecstasy of togetherness,
We waltzed in the arms of nature
Forgetting the attacks of demanding demons.

Feeding on the weaknesses of humans
They exult at the lone figures but
Ego gets knocked off, as the divine intervenes.
