Whispers
Borrowed light
Travelling through time
Whispers secrets that sound true.
Moments pause here, muted by
Arched attachments
Silence saunters with élan.
Dedication dons ancient attire
Shadows settle on history —
Long forgotten ghosts.
Blinded by light and sound show,
They watch from the edges
How the arches come to life.
Each one whispers a story
Of the door that never opened,
Of the freedom that remained a dream.

A wispy beautiful verse.
Thank you Violet.
Beautiful poem Balroop. This shut door implies someone sequestered behind it. Thanks for joining in my friend.
A shut door can be interpreted in various ways and that’s the beauty of poetry! Thank you for sharing your thought, Sadje.

Always welcome Balroop 💓
This is beautiful, Balroop. I love the ancient, secretive tone, and that last stanza is a show stopper. I loved how it suddenly made your poem so human and emotional. Well done.
I have seen many ancient forts and havelis that speak in the same tone to me. An eerie silence adds to the imagination of the visitor. This photo took me into one of those memory lanes. Thank you for such a lovely feedback, Diana.
I like this very much, Balroop!
Thank you Dawn.
