Only the Light #WDYS

Only the Light

The last train of the year has left
And I stand here,
surrounded by the mist
Emptiness within and around.

But I’ve no qualms, no apprehension.
Beyond the horizon,
I can see the light,
dotted with fluffy clouds;

Transmitting mute messages –
Dwell within us,
We offer eternal companionship
Of love and harmony.

And I wonder –
Could paradise be any different?
The blue unknown offers
A thousand sanctuaries of inner peace.

No more trains for me
No worldly worries,
Only the light, lightly held by the moon
In moments that make memories.

  1. A Beautiful poem Balroop.. And congratulations upon your new book release also Balroop…
May your new year bring you more light, more laughter and more joy dear Balroop…
Sending you many blessings your way xx ❤ 💖🙏

  2. Your ability to turn a visual prompt into a spiritual journey is always impressive. I particularly paused at the question: ‘Could paradise be any different?’ It challenges the reader to look inward for that sanctuary instead of seeking it externally. The acceptance of the ‘mist’ and the ’emptiness’ as a pathway to the light is beautifully written. Wishing you much success with Beyond the Fetters!

    1. Thank you so much for stopping by to share your thoughts about this poem, much appreciated. I am glad you could delve deeper into nuances of this poem. Thanks for all your wishes.

  3. Balroop, I have just read your wonderful poem “ Only the Light “ and am deeply touched .
The emptiness that turns to calm as you see the light beyond the horizon.

The blue unknown offering inner peace . The moonlight making memories.
I would add the early sunrise gives us hope of peace and joy with its gold and red.

I love it, the poem is superb

  4. So beautiful and inspiring Balroop. The journey might not always be easy but when we can breath in some wisdom and find peace in a clear blue sky, we know we are walking on a new road – may this one be filled with joy, love, health and beautiful words! Stay safe and well.
