Mother Nature’s Commands
Crimson,
ochre, yellow
robes of Mother nature
catch zephyrs loaded with verglas
even
when the wind speaks soft syllables
leaves comply, drifting down
to honor the
commands.

I See the Moon Nymphs
Moon smiles
through my window,
shines brighter to entice
I marvel at his pristine eyes.
spellbound,
I look at his glorious light
and admire the nymphs who
glide on moonbeams,
with grace.

Thanks to Willow and Colleen for the inspiration to write syllabic poetry.
I chose to write two butterfly cinquains.
Willow has offered two subjects: The October Hunter’s Moon or the aging of the year. In fact, you can use those two prompts literally, or you can use one or the other or both and explain in your poetry how they make you feel.
Thank you for reading my poetry.

Thank you Kamal.
Beautiful poems, my friend. What lovely tributes to autumn and the moon. Both are enchanting. And thanks for the shoutout for your reviews. It’s nice to see them starting to come in!
Thank you Diana, I have written so many poems about autumn and moon that now it seems I am repeating the same ideas. So this time I thought of moonbeams and got the nymphs gliding down. 😄
I never get tired of your poetry. 🙂
I love you for saying that Diana. 🤗
Balroop, this is so stunning. Your words came alive in my mind. Beautiful poem!

Both are so beautiful, Balroop. I love these lines: “when the wind speaks soft syllables leaves comply, drifting down to honor the commands.” And what a delightful image this line evokes: “Moon smiles through my window.” 💕
Thank you Lauren, I appreciate your feedback.
My pleasure, Balroop!

Thank you Yvette.
Two beautifully written poems. The first one really speaks of autumn so well. Love the imagery of leaves drifting down… I think autumn is like that, it drifts over us and the next thing we know, it is here and so is winter. With your second poem, I love that you allude to the Moon as having eyes – a reminder that the Moon and probably other things out there that are watching over us. Great writing as always, Balroop. Thank you for sharing 😊
I am delighted to hear that these poems spoke to you, Mabel. The elements of nature, in whatever form have always crept into my poetry, like friends. Thanks for coming over to read and share your thoughts.
Love how you say it, that elements of nature are like friends. A profound way to look at the world around us 🙂
These butterfly cinquains are amazing. Wow.
Thank you Jude.
