In Wilderness
Unknown paths don’t scare me now. A forest feigns a comforting arm, trees tantamount to companions with a difference and hours seem to stand still. Am I drifting into eremitism? Far away from the madness of the world, from the conflicting views of the mighty and the powerful, from the digital devices that are worse than termites, I wander in the wilderness, wondering when I will find a better place.
A little darkness
A little light – both allure
unpredictable.

This is a beautiful and hopeful post. We all need to escape into nature and be reborn and replenished. You have caught that here 💜💜💜
Thank you for sharing your kind words Willow.

What a powerful haiku, Balroop. I love it! ❤️
Thank you Gwen.
Powerful words Balroop. I just came from another blog who also wrote about a great pause from digital devices. We all need it. 🙂 x
Not possible! Thanks for chiming in Deb.
The mystery of wilderness is powerful and alluring like you said, Balroop. A beautiful piece, and as much as I love blogging, a break from devices is healthy now and then. 💕
I agree, Lauren. We know how to create a balance but not the next generation! Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Your poem spoke to me, Balroop, as if you read my mind. I’m feeling the call of the woods. Gorgeous, my friend.
Thank you dear Diana. You have a lovely soul. Enjoy the call.
What a nice and somehow refreshing share Balroop. I hear the call of nature and the peace of a place away of chaos and hyper connectivity.
Have a sweet day!

This haibun is a welcome walk in the woods.
Thank you D.
We all need to take a walk in the woods you share in your poem, Balroop. How beautiful! It is out of the darkness that the light looks the brightest. 💛
Yes, and that’s why light is so alluring. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Colleen. 🤗
I agree. I’m always fascinated with shadows and light. The patterns make for interesting poetry.
So true! Shadows have inspired many of my poems.
Beautiful poem, Balroop ji. One way to safeguard ourselves from the madness is to shut it out. I think, a lot of us are ‘drifting into eremitism’. I love the word.
Thank you for endorsing my thoughts, Smitha. We’ve to shut it out for our sanity.
