The Expected One

The Expected One
1860
painting by Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller (Museum: Bavarian State Painting Collections) wikidata.org

Jim has been waiting
the expected one arrives
tears sheath her vision,
as the holy urn she holds
contains ashes of her mom.

***

the rocky terrain,
a lonely lane of life glows
with expectations
when her lover walks with her
to assuage her grieving nerves.

***

the urn gets heavy
woeful, she sits at the edge
her tears trickle down,
merge in the flowing water
as she immerses ashes.

#TankaTuesday – Specific form

Image from Pixaby

A lovely love cove
A covert awning for us
It’s charm enhanced by
blossoms that hang overhead
pairs of ducks swim merrily.

***

Our favorite haunt
that added breeze to our love
I wait for you here
to soak in serenity
our yearning grew with seasons.

***

Moments drenched with mirth
That could never lose luster
our dainty orchids
kiss our passion with dew of
eternal togetherness

#TankaTuesday #Photoprompt – Heaven

Picture by photographer, Terri Webster Schrandt

Photo prompts kick my muse even when she is cross with me! Such a beautiful picture of Mother Nature calms her down perfectly to write syllabic poetry.

Want to see heaven?
where morning clouds glow soft pink.
come to our backyard
snow fairies dance here with glee
we revel with them all day.

***

Cold can not touch us
that is the bliss of childhood!
giggles thaw the snow,
the thrill of togetherness
embraced by wild ecstasy.

Thanks to Colleen and her friend Terri for the inspiration to create this double tanka.

Thank you.

#TankaTuesday #Syllabic #Poetry

Today’s poetry is inspired from Colleen’s poetry challenge, which gives the freedom to choose our own syllabic form but concentrate on a chakra color to feature in our poem. Please visit Word Craft Poetry to understand chakras. I chose tanka and violet color.

vernal violet
visual delight that jolts
royal touch that holds
just one glance satiates me
even dew lingers to love

***

violet bells dance
tunes of  nature inspire
winds wane to watch them
beguile me in my backyard
scenario to cherish

***

Ah! The healing touch,
profound awareness moments
smear my soul with peace
to feel  mystical embrace
and the shift of perspective

I chose Violet color, which symbolizes creativity, wisdom, sensitivity and spirituality. It inspires, motivates, balances and uplifts. Thanks to Colleen for the inspiration to write syllabic poetry.

Thank you.

#TankaTuesday #Poetry

draped in lustrous robes
I merged with silvery sky
breeze ruffled my hair
ecstatic, I looked around
to ensure I was alive

***

monsoon clouds cloak me
joyful moments pause to view
when our dreams get wings
celestial artist unfolds
silvery white hinterlands

Thanks to Colleen’s weekly TankaTuesday challenge, which has inspired me to create a double tanka (poems based on color and weather) I chose silver, the color of the Greek goddess Artemis (Roman aspect: Diana). It is symbolic of purity, strength, clarity and focus. It also represents grace, sophistication, elegance, and glamor. In the spiritual and mystical world, silver also has associations with the moon, which has connections to feminine energy.

Thank you.
