#Spring Equinox #TankaTuesday

Trees beam with color
birdsongs usher in spring dawn
dispelling darkness
yet my heart harbors a grudge
unsaid words wail wistfully.

Golden rays shake me
send an impassioned message –
positive thoughts help
wildflowers don dewy robes
Even the willows shimmer.

Doves coo in delight
haunting calls that pierce my heart
raking memories
blissful yesteryears hover
clasping me to offer balm.

Nebulous night drags
as I gaze at the ceiling –
empty, like my life.
Dare I swish the drape apart?
glance at the glorious dawn?

Thanks to Colleen for her 24 Seasons Poetry Challenge, which inspires syllabic poetry. I’ve highlighted the Kigo words.

Many thanks to all my blogger buddies for coming over to read and share their thoughts. I am trying to come out of my cocoon to visit your blogs.

#TankaTuesday – 24 Seasons #Poetry Challenge

This valley – our vault
that resounds with memories
spring mists surround me
as I gather some fragments
scattered on the path we loved.

***

Do you remember?
the first butterfly of spring
always allured us
she too chose to fly away
alone I sit here, inert.

***

When fragrance falters
threatening clouds creep closer
light recedes within
spring sunsets lose their luster
life sounds meaningless.

The Last Kiss #DoubleEnnead

The Last Kiss

The sun tarries and winks
just for the last kiss
purple beauty bows to breathe the orange glow
love blooms with the promise
of meeting each spring

days of love get warmer,
beams of love sharper
but basking in the glory, she stands sturdy
as the petals wither.
love is just like that!

halcyon moments halt
seasons don’t matter
eons of love stories spill out of his den
as he chases the wind
and entices the rain.

This week’s challenge is a photo prompt. Thanks to Colleen and Terri for the inspiration to write syllabic poetry. I’ve written a Double Ennead for the first time. A Double Ennead is a 99 syllable form, comprising three stanzas of syllables (6, 5, 11, 6, 5).

Thank you!

The Artist’s Garden at Giverny (French:Le Jardin de l’artiste à Giverny) is an oil on canvas painting by Claude Monet done in 1900 now in the Musée d’Orsay, Paris.

Damsel of Buds

Welcome
to my garden
to revel in colors,
sprinkled by the dainty damsel
of buds.

she strides
with dreamy lull,
creates the land of love
doves coo – melodies that allure
beaus.

fragrance
blends with beauty,
flutters with the petals
misty dance of pink and purple-
a balm!

arms of
Mother Nature
drape around stressful nerves
serenity percolates now
through air
.

wondrous
garden of bliss
that sparkles for moments
just pause to admire the unique
artist.

Thanks to Colleen for the inspiration to craft syllabic poetry. This week, the inspiration is a painting, which was featured on Rebecca’s post:

#FridayPainting: Claude Monet “The Artist’s Garden at Giverny”

I’ve written a Crown cinquain, a sequence of five cinquain stanzas functioning to construct one larger poem. This poem has five stanzas, each with syllable count of 2/4/6/8/2.

Thank you.

#Spring #haiku

spring sings new tunes
colors spread exuberance
wildflowers wake up

***

we usher her in
our favorite blushing dame
scintillating spring

***

little smiles beckon
bees breeze in to celebrate
sublime carnival

***

butterfly hovers
to embrace budding beauty
drinking with delight

***

baby pines dance
gentle caresses of wind
bestow warm welcome

***

buds bloom with elan
oblique to catch spring light
spontaneous bow
