Finding Peace

wisps

Riding on the smoky clouds
We enter the realms of rejuvenating mists
Fluttering around Angelic alacrity
To recreate this amorphous adventure

Who is this between us?
Accentuating the beauty of our venture
Adept at changing shapes
Adorning colors of similar semblance

Disseminating vibes of vibrant lure
Evincing our real rapport
Beams of light kissing our faces
Lending a glow of glorious brilliance

Shining in our own characters
Away from ear-shattering sounds
We soar away from strife and animosity
Earthly identities seem insignificant

Detachment seems so blissful
You may call it escapism
You are free to judge us
We are beyond your chaotic world!

How Challenging Is A Guest Post?

Writing a Guest Post

Guest post is more challenging than scribbling a few lines for our own blog where we could write whatever comes to our mind – that has been my belief and therefore I am always intimidated with the thought of writing a guest post. I have written very few of them.

Last week, my guest post was published at Jeri Walker’s professional site – ‘Word Bank Writing & Editing.’ To be a guest of Jeri, an accompished author and an erudite editor is a great honor, which I would always cherish. Jeri has been extremely kind as she has not used any of her astute editing skills for my post.

May I request you to join me there while I bask in the glory of another achievement?

My Neglected Baby

My neglected baby

Who made me a poet

Craving for attention.

My debut poetry book ‘Sublime Shadows Of Life’ is available for $0.99 at Amazon from 10 – 13 August 2017. When this book was published, I didn’t have a blog or any social media contacts to promote it or request reviews. The bliss of ignorance encompassed me!

The poems in this collection talk about bruised emotions and lost passions, which linger around us even when we try to bury them. While these poems give them a channel to flow freely, they also send vibes of positivity to deal with their shadows.

Sublime Shadows Of Life comments on life, its turbulent curves and relationships. It envisions people through the prism of poetry. I, you, he, we and they are universal symbols, which highlight the fact that happiness is not a destination but a chasm to bury agony, anguish, grief, distress and move on! No sea of solitude is so deep that it can drown us. Sometimes aspirations are trampled upon, the boulders of exploitation and discrimination may block your path but those who tread on undeterred are always successful.

#ExcerptWeek – Emerging From Shadows by Balroop Singh

I have met Marcia recently but I am overwhelmed by the kind of support that she has been extending to authors and bloggers through her feature #ExcerptWeek at her blog. Today I am her guest at her blog “The Write Stuff”, sharing one of my poems from ‘Emerging From Shadows.’

When I entered blogosphere, without any specific plans, just by an innate desire to share my thoughts and experiences, I had no idea that I would be welcomed so warmly by the fraternity of writers like Marcia. Today when my heart is filled with gratitude for all those friends from whom I have learnt so much…the first name is that of Sandra, whose beautiful and serene blog inspired me and her profound reflections were so appealing that I couldn’t resist the temptation to share my thoughts.

Zeenat’s mesmerizing words of robust optimism and tenacious positivity kept me going and slowly I got familiar with the nitty-gritties of WordPress. I met some steadfast friends like Lisa who visited me to inspire, when I was floundering in the sea of blogging. I have come a long way and can boast of such friends like Marcia, Lisa, Sally, Diana, Debbie, Tina, Bette, Robbie, Colleen, Sue and many more who are accomplished authors.

Please hop on to Marcia’s blog to read the poem I have shared at her blog.

THE SECRET OF BEING ALIVE

Torrential thoughts stir the ghosts of past
Throttling pain feeds on grisly graves
Pushing past away, I continue to thrive
In the rhythm of throbbing life

Life that seems scrupulously seamless
Having sustained stormy waves
Craves for calm waters and sunshine
Nurturing the hope… clouds would subside

Swaying droplets of indifferent love
Stand sprinkled all around
The charade of connection continues
Evoking detest, dissent and disenchantment

Sharp shards of shattered emotions
Pierce as I try to gather those sensations
Wilderness walks with me
Yet a dim, discrete light beckons…

Rise from those dumps of depression!
Bury those personal regrets deep…
