#TankaTuesday 24 Seasons #Poetry Challenge

This Tanka prose is inspired from the year-long challenge of 24 seasons that ends this week.

Clamoring for Comfort

Oh! How painful is it to accept changes, to search for a new path when you feel lost and wander in an unknown wilderness? If little changes bring heartache, how do you accept mammoth changes that erase your existence; wipe away all hope? Shadows hover around you, clawing at the bleeding entrails. How do you steer a sinking boat out of turbulent seas of grief?

A seared soul clamors
to break free and cross over
autumn dusk beckons,
wall of fog inches forward
a turmoil within me whirls.

Kigo phrases: autumn dusk, wall of fog.

Dew Delight?

Dew doesn’t delight me now. Morning walks sound lusterless without you, yet I plod on the old, preferred path, knowing there can be no new beginnings. Cloudy skies, autumn hues and vermilion sunsets may brighten my day for a moment, but I live in the shadows. White drapes dance around me every morning. They fail to stir a comatose mourner.

Mourning never ends
change in seasons reinforce
the grim reminder:
darkening days is your fate
loneliness – your only friend.

A Pleasant Morning

I open my front door to be greeted by the marvels of Mother Nature. No more subtle, autumn shines through some leaves while myrtle trees compete with them in their own way. A pleasant morning is adorned by the mackerel clouds, promising a positive change. Sun peeps through them, refusing to surrender. After a smoldering summer, we heave a sigh of relief and look forward to night parties in the backyard to honor the change of season.

time to revel as
remaining heat dissipates
Milky Way beckons.

Morning Walk

A windy morning, humming the song of autumn stretches its arms to kiss the dew on the grasses. Young trees waltz, but the old oak watches, blending his rhythms with the wind. The Myrtle tree sacrifices her pink and purple blossoms to the blustery gale. My favorite trees have already got the whiff of change. They wave at me with colorful branches. Chill rips through my spring jacket, licking at my skin, delving deeper into my bones.

Autumn chill cloaks me
the pleasure of walk weakens
I quicken my pace.

#Poetry – Theme prompt: 24 Seasons

Yellow Gold

Finally, my muse pulled me out of self-imposed exile and took me far away into the large fields of sunflowers. Thousands of smiles greeted me, as I watched with glee, my heart woke up to embrace positivity floating in the air. Each yellow petal – a panacea for grieving hearts; a pertinent reminder of joy; a paragon of light that reignites the urge to live.

childhood charm rebounds
petal games we loved to play –
innocent pleasure.
little knowing the value
of golden glow that’s divine.
