Another Dawn

New Year Wishes

Eerie whispers of moon
Stirred sweet memories
Of exotic holidays
While snow queens twirled

Wrapped in magical moonlight
She sat by the window
Watching winter winds
That licked at shadows

A Moon fairy landed near her
Swirling softly she spoke
Of the mist that clouded
Her thoughts

She shook the ashes –
The residue of past fires
Smoldering within her heart
She whispered…

“Another dawn is waiting
Let’s welcome it together
Warm it with Christmas cheer
The song of life is still dear.”

Gathering Bliss

still-life-715117__340

Those days that are special
Days we cherish
Days that take us back
Into the limber labyrinth of life

Myriad moments come alive
Reviving everlasting memories
Each day reinforces relationships
And bonding that is eternal

I basked in their glory
Revisiting those moments
Savoring smiles of loved ones
Love that has stood the test of time

Garbed in childhood bliss
Reminiscing only the delight
I gathered gossamer grains
Of time, twinkling just for a while.

Fall and Haiku

Fall haiku

 Fall evokes emotions
It speaks myriad messages of
Beauty, life and re-birth.

I didn’t know what is “Fall” till I saw and discovered its real meaning. I didn’t know Autumn is “delicious” or “ the year’s last, loveliest smile” till I tasted it.

“Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.” – George Eliot

Autumn was just another season for me, a relief from scorching heat. Beauties of Mother Nature were revealed to me when I visited this part of the globe to meet my girls who chose to study in U.S universities. The charm of Bryn Mawr campus captivated me, evoking emotions that melted into words:

Fall haiku

Ochre and crimson
Robes of Mother Nature remind
Decay can be exquisite.

Autumn haiku

Autumn is peeping
Through the sidewalks it smiles
Evoking eloquence.

Fall haiku

Beauty changes connotation
Decay doesn’t decimate it
Gather treasures for posterity.

Year after year, as I watch this beauty now and consider myself blessed to see how mother earth gathers treasures for posterity.

Thank you for your support dear readers. I am travelling this month. See you in December.

Paths of Life

Misty path
Sue Vincent’s #writephoto

Hand in hand we step
Into to the world of our dreams
Ready to traverse streams

What lies beyond the mist
May be cryptic
I love all that is mystic

Hazy skies are transient
Just like paths of life
Let’s travel beyond strife

I can see new avenues
Toward the morning star
But I want to go far

Far from this hypocritical world
That still sows seeds of dissent
Augmenting clouds of discontent.

Colors

Glow of sun
Sue Vincent’s #Writephoto

The day sun descended
With all his fire
To dilute the heat
Even clouds forgot to peep

I watched with a gasp
When an azure pool
Changed its color
Heat flew like splinters

Mother earth endured all
Breathing quiet messages
Branches stoop to offer shade
Moments of harmony sway

Now this pool knows magic
As it changes colors
Passion and serenity meet here
Moon lends its silvery glow.
