Moments of fragrant love that stand frozen in time, of dreams that dare not unfold, of passion that fleets by, of erratic joy that we meet at the crossroads of life, butterflies of time that add color to our dark moments to scare the demons away – I have gathered all of them in this book. Some of them whisper softly to create a magical aura while spring of life sings with them, trying to wipe silent tears. Mother Nature steps in with all her grandeur to breath quiet messages of tranquility.

Each poem would soothe your emotions with élan and add a dash of color to your life. Life – that doesn’t halt for your sad moments; that just floats by. You just need to dive in to soak in myriads of moments to discover how it could ignite positive tones. All the poems in this collection are imaginary but inspired from people around me, some of whom chose to share their frustrations and tremors with me. Sometimes I could read between the lines to pen my thoughts down.

Memories and moments merge here
Today when I return to share
The glow of rainbows
Embers of emotional entreaties
And smoldering debris.

Paths of Life

Misty path
Sue Vincent’s #writephoto

Hand in hand we step
Into to the world of our dreams
Ready to traverse streams

What lies beyond the mist
May be cryptic
I love all that is mystic

Hazy skies are transient
Just like paths of life
Let’s travel beyond strife

I can see new avenues
Toward the morning star
But I want to go far

Far from this hypocritical world
That still sows seeds of dissent
Augmenting clouds of discontent.

Book Review: Emerging From Shadows – Poetry by Balroop Singh

I am pleased to share this glowing review of my poetry by James J. Cudney (the creator of Braxton Campus Mysteries) while I prepare to launch ‘Moments We Love,’ my new poetry book next week.

Colors

Glow of sun
Sue Vincent’s #Writephoto

The day sun descended
With all his fire
To dilute the heat
Even clouds forgot to peep

I watched with a gasp
When an azure pool
Changed its color
Heat flew like splinters

Mother earth endured all
Breathing quiet messages
Branches stoop to offer shade
Moments of harmony sway

Now this pool knows magic
As it changes colors
Passion and serenity meet here
Moon lends its silvery glow.

The Moon #Flashfiction

I looked around and smiled with glee, wondering how did it all change? A lifetime dream had been accomplished! I sat in my round house, disseminating silvery light. Children sat around me in a semi-circle, awed by the stories I could tell them, one after the other. My adventure in the ocean was the favorite one, and evoked a thousand questions.

“How could you traverse it?”

“Didn’t you get lost?”

“Yes, I did,” I mused, “I couldn’t get back.”

I don’t know how many days had passed as I drifted between slumber and consciousness. All pain had dissipated when I saw the face of a nurse who asked how I was feeling. I told her I dreamt I was the moon and had a magnificent view of the earth from space. Green and blue colors added charm to my stories. I closed my eyes, anticipating the same serenity.

#Flashfiction inspired from dVerse prompt: “I dreamt I was the moon.”
