This week’s challenge is “Synonyms Only”
Mind plays silly games
pulling delightful moments
memories emerge
monotony of days end,
effacing the darker hues.
***
dreary hours stand still
thoughtless walk into the past
pernicious practice
hampers the journey of life,
shackles my fidgety muse.
***
submerged in the deeps
she emerges to have a look
just for a minute –
amnesic and dull-witted,
oblivious of perils.

Thanks to Selma who is hosting Tanka Tuesday this week.
The words she gave are: Mindless and Humdrum. We have write a Tanka, using the synonyms of the words. I have written a string of Tanka and highlighted my synonyms.
Thank you dear readers.
Here is the Amazon link for my new poetry book.

Thanks Annette 🤗
Balroop, they’re all gorgeous words. Of the three I loved this one for its subtle reminder to keep moving foward lest our muse is shackled, silenced:
“dreary hours stand still
thoughtless walk into the past
pernicious practice
hampers the journey of life,
shackles my fidgety muse.”
How well you did the exercise dear Balroop. Thanks for participating 🤗
Thank you for your kind words of encouragement, Selma. 🥰

These are lovely, Balroop, They complimented each other well and I could feel the ennui like a weight. Well done!
Thank you Diana, yes the weight is overwhelming but I am learning to resist it.
Good use of the words, Balroop. As always beautifully written xo
Thank you Denise.
This was a fabulous poetic discussion of your muse, Balroop. Mine has been overworked, but she’s starting to wake up again. Thanks so much for tanka poetry. 🧡
I am glad you see the discussion within the lines Colleen, much appreciated thought. 🥰
