Trees beam with color
birdsongs usher in spring dawn
dispelling darkness
yet my heart harbors a grudge
unsaid words wail wistfully.
…
Golden rays shake me
send an impassioned message –
positive thoughts help
wildflowers don dewy robes
Even the willows shimmer.
…
Doves coo in delight
haunting calls that pierce my heart
raking memories
blissful yesteryears hover
clasping me to offer balm.
…
Nebulous night drags
as I gaze at the ceiling –
empty, like my life.
Dare I swish the drape apart?
glance at the glorious dawn?

Thanks to Colleen for her 24 Seasons Poetry Challenge, which inspires syllabic poetry. I’ve highlighted the Kigo words.
Many thanks to all my blogger buddies for coming over to read and share their thoughts. I am trying to come out of my cocoon to visit your blogs.

This is such a mix of beauty and despair, Balroop.
I really love the lines
“wildflowers don dewy robes
Even the willows shimmer.”
I pray that soon you are able to swish the drapes apart and allow dawn back into your heart, my friend. I know your husband would want you to walk in the light. Sending you prayers and hugs. ❤️
I know… My husband loved light and positivity. His thoughts nudge me everyday.
Thank you Mae, for the prayers and hugs and reminders, I keep forgetting. 🤗

May the glorious dawn offer a glimmer of hope.

Yes, Balroop, you dare swish those drapes apart and drink in the glorious dawn
also feel joy of seeing the dewy wildflowers in dewy coats.
it is all a blessing and give hope. 🦋❣️.

Oh, Balroop, this is so overwhelmingly sad. Huge hugs.
Thanks Robbie. 🤗
Balroop, you capture the wonder of the dawn with such beauty and detail, a beauty too much for you, too many memories. I pray that the new dawns will gradually ease your suffering and pain, to dare pull open the metaphorical drapes. with much love xx
Thanks for understanding my thoughts so well, Annika. I feel the metaphor and I am glad it is reaching you. Love and hugs.
Painfully beautiful, Balroop. I hope dawn peeks though those drapes. Xo
Thanks Denise, trying hard to peek through the dark doors.

I am so ready for this warming time. Thank you for this beautiful poetry.
It can be quite jarring to see the bright sun and hear the birds singing when you feel black. Your poem captures this contradiction so well, Balroop. I pray for you to “swish the drape apart”. ❤
Thank you Lisa. 🤗
My heart hurt to read this, my friend {{hugs}}

Just trying to find a few moments of solace in the beauty of nature. Thanks for coming over to read dear friend.
Balroop ji, these are beautiful poems. The line ‘yet my heart harbors a grudge’ resonated with me. This is how I felt when I lost dad.
And also the lines ‘ Nebulous night drags
as I gaze at the ceiling –
empty, like my life.’
Losing a loved one isn’t easy. May God give you strength.
Poetry is keeping me alive. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about loss Smitha. No words can ever express the emotion of losing the most loved person.
Such a painfully beautiful write
WOW, Balroop. That last stanza really hit me in particular, but they’re all fantastic. Just excellent, truly.
