#TankaTuesday – 24 Seasons #Poetry Challenge

Pixaby image

This valley – our vault
that resounds with memories
spring mists surround me
as I gather some fragments
scattered on the path we loved.

***

Do you remember?
the first butterfly of spring
always allured us
she too chose to fly away
alone I sit here, inert.

***

When fragrance falters
threatening clouds creep closer
light recedes within
spring sunsets lose their luster
life sounds meaningless.

  1. Life is never meaningless, dear Balroop,

it does hurt so at times and it is hard to feel its wonder.

Butterfly’s will fly again and at times get caught,

it they will fly until sunset.

I feel deeply for you Balroop, keep writing.

  2. These are both beautiful in different ways. I love this:

    spring mists surround me
    as I gather some fragments
scattered on the path we loved.”

Heartbreaking yet comforting at the same time.

Sending love and hugs to you, Balroop ❤

  3. Such a poignant poem, Balroop. Your heartache is palpable in your the verses you weave. I continue to pray for your comfort and peace. 💙

  4. Dear Balroop ..I see you have had a loss, I send my support to you to help you through your grieving. Life is harsh but the sun rises every morning…even if we can’t see it.💜💜

  5. Sending love and comfort across the miles, Balroop. Grief is a wily emotion, yet it does ‘lessen’ with time. Never goes away though. 💕

      1. Yes, I can only imagine. My sister recently lost her husband of 55 years. She is slowly emerging. I think one has to give oneself all the time necessary to grieve. 🙏🏽💗

  6. ommigosh, Balroop, I just love how your series stanzas captures the bittersweet essence of memory, loss, and the changing seasons with poignant imagery and emotional depth. Excellent!

  7. Balroop, your poems reflect your grief and pain. Your words are poignant, but I’m glad you have a poetic outlet to share with us all. We’re here for you! ❤️

  8. The one about the butterfly deserting you saddened me. because I know your heart still aches. Be well my lovely Balroop. But all the poems are such a delight to read. Always. Thanks for sharing.
