The Stranger
The stranger I met at your home haunts
I have stepped outside with the thought –
do I’ve any connection
with this charming maiden?
your love brought me here
your cold manner,
your aloof
approach
hurts
A stunning silence encompasses.
just acidic looks are enough
to rip the heart of mother
who can catch icy vibes
her modest smile hides
the wound that bleeds,
breath that breaks,
love that
shrieks.

autumn leaves fall now
just like my silvery hair
one sits in my plate

The kigo word (The stranger) I chose, took me elsewhere.
I pulled my muse back to seasons and could manage just a senryu. 😀
Thanks to Colleen for the inspiration to write syllabic poetry. The challenge is to choose a kigo word or phrase from the seasonal kigo list and write a poem.
Thank you.
Have you checked Fusion – my latest release?

Thanks to all the readers for their lovely support and reviews of Fusion.

This was wonderful…nice job
Thank you!
The muse has a way to take you on a journey, Balroop! I’m glad you didn’t get lost.
Lol! My muse is very moody, it’s difficult to shackle her to one kind of thoughts. 😀
That makes life interesting, Balroop. ☺️
Sure, it does. 😊
Intensity… Each of these could lead to remarkable short stories.
Thank you so much Annette, I love your thoughts.
Balroop, I liked how your poem vividly captured the complex emotions within a family gathering.
You painted a powerful picture of the tension and isolation felt by many in the presence of the charming stranger by using concise language.
The contrast between the “acidic looks” and the “modest smile” skillfully conveys the depth of hidden emotions.
I enjoyed to discover your explorations of the themes of love, hurt, and strained relationships in such a brief yet impactful manner.
Ah, the first days of the autumns of our lives are here.
Ah! You understand the emotions so well! Thank you for sharing your lovely thoughts Pat. I am delighted to hear your analysis of this poem.
Such a great pleasure.
Thank you for providing me with a beautiful morning read.
My pleasure Pat.
I didnt know ‘stranger’ was a kigo word – powerful too for it led to such a beautiful poem. I enjoyed the senryu a lot.
Thank you for the visit, much appreciated. I am glad you liked the senryu.
There are a lot of images that left me thinking–“acidic looks are enough ” Hmm…
Thanks Jacqui, I am glad you liked the images. 🤗
Both are captivating in different ways. Loved both, Balroop:)
Thank you Denise.
I enjoyed both poems, although each quite different. Fantastic job.
Thank you Jan.
It’s interesting where our muses lead us, Balroop. And yours led you to write such vivid imagery and palpable emotions. I love your autumn poem too. Both wonderful! 🧡🍁
Thank you Lauren, I appreciate your lovely words of encouragement. 🤗
Fabulous, Balroop! Who knew the kigo words could be so inspirational? I like your haiku at the end. The silver hair on your plate was a lovely surprise. It tied in to the passage of time and the changing of the seasons. (haiku require a season word) so that’s why I called your poem a haiku at the end). The stranger was a great choice! 🧡
Oh! I went wrong on both fronts!! You still have such kind words for me!Thank you so much Colleen.
There’s a world of pain in your first poem, Balroop. I liked the playful feel of the second piece.
Thanks Jacquie, I am delighted to hear that the emotions are reaching you.
Just a senryu? 😀 I love it. Great response to the image. I don’t think we ever know for sure where our muse will take us. Yours did brilliantly, Balroop.
Thank you Lisa, I know your muse has her own moods! 😀
Your senryu is lovely, made smile! 🙂
Thank you Elizabeth.

Welcome Balroop ❤️
These are all lovely, Balroop. Sometimes the muse leads and we follow.
Thank you Robbie, you are right… we have to follow!

Wonderful, Balroop. Great job!
Thank you Luanne.
You’re welcome!
I wish it was just one hair! LOL 🙂
😀 Thanks for the smiles Marsha.
🙂
Interesting spin on the prompt, Balroop. Can relate very much to the senryu.
Thank you Lisa.
You’re welcome 🙂
Yes, the stranger took you in another direction, Balroop, so of course you had to write two poems. They’re both wonderful, my friend. Happy Autumn.
Thank you Diana.
That last poem of yours in particular is sooo good, Balroop. I mean ~ it’s so simply and yet so clever at once…
Much love,
David
Thank you David. 🤗
