irksome muggy heat
bristles for sudden showers
oppressive August
***
dahlias toss their heads
scented breeze brings a message
we’re ready to go
***
carpenter bees buzz
some survive on sunflowers
fireflies mate and die
***
summer dresses match
colorful beach umbrellas
waves welcome surfers
***
summer sounds snug here
ocean fog flaunts amity
eternal allure

Sounds like August to me!
😀😄 Thanks Annette
Wow what pictures you paint with your words
Thank you for your kind words.
This is such an interesting piece. Each stanza had a pair or series of words that just stood out as strange but also fitting. Interesting work you did there
Thank you, I’m delighted to hear that.
no problem!
These are wonderful summer word-images, Balroop!
Thank you Vera for coming over to read them, much appreciated.

You’ve captured end of summer perfectly with your words. ❤
I am delighted to hear that Deb. Thank you for stopping by to read.
Always a treat. 🙂
Your words expressed why I love summer. Beautiful, Balroop.❤️
Thank you Jill.🤗
You covered so many different aspects of summer in these stanzas, Balroop. Lovely!
Thank you Jan.
Beautiful, Balroop! 💕😊
Thank you Harmony. 🤗
Beautiful, Balroop. I love how you’ve given us snapshots of summer. Brilliant!
Thank you Gwen, it’s better to capture them in words before they slip away! 😀
These are awesome, Balroop. They all evoke a sense of summer. I’m partial to the visual of sundresses and beach umbrellas, but oh, those sunflowers and dahlias are captivating. You aced the challenge.
Thanks for coming over here despite your hectic schedule Diana. I am glad you connected with the summer flowers. 🥰
My pleasure! I have a review of Fusions up on my blog today and will leave the post up for most of my coming vacation. 🙂 ❤
You are such a darling Diana! Thank you. 😇
Beautiful words of summer, Balroop. I love the buzzing bees, scented breeze, and sunflowers. 🌻
Thank you Lauren, I am glad you like it.
What a great way to say it, Balroop–the magic created by the fusion of words.
Thank you Jacqui. 😊
HI Balroop, these are wonderful poems.
Thank you Robbie. 😊
Balroop, these are all great! The first one made me think you don’t like the heat haha! It’s been very hot here in Arizona this summer. Your book is lined up in my Kindle, by the way. There are a few ahead :/.
You are right. I’ve never liked summer. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I am glad my book is on your reading list. Happy reading. 😊🤗
I thought so! I love summer, but only because my childhood summers were so beautiful (in Michigan). Summers here in Arizona are just awful.
Here, the summers are comfortable, with ocean breeze coming just after two days of heat but my dislike is rooted in the many hot and humid summers of New Delhi!
I can actually imagine the horrid humidity!
Lovely poetry, Balroop. Thank you!
Thank you for stopping by to read it, Resa.
Welcome, my pleasure!
Lovely summer poems, Balroop. I can see summer dresses match colorful beach umbrellas. How fun!
Thank you for coming over to read, Miriam 😊 summer fun is almost over!
I’m not quite ready yet, Balroop! I wonder if we’ll have snow in Portland this year. 🙂
Think of the beauty of autumn first! 😊
I know, Balroop. Autumn is pretty in Portland. 🍁🍂
Just wait for heavenly sights!
Wonderful haiku, Balroop! They are all fabulous! 💜
Thank you Colleen 😊🤗
Balroop, you do a good job of capturing the busy-ness of this time of year.
Thank you Lisa 🤗
You’re very welcome.
I love this quintet of haiku so like summer 💜
Like raindrops in August, Balroop.
I enjoyed your latest poetry too.
I thought:
“Fusion” is the latest poetry collection by Singh, focusing on the connections between humans and nature as well as human relationships.
What I loved is that Singh’s poems are accessible yet profound. The collection touches on themes of grief and the coronavirus but is primarily filled with uplifting and encouraging poems.
Singh’s poetry often concludes with a satisfying reflection on the journey or the speaker’s personal growth.
This collection offers an enjoyable and heartfelt glimpse into the author’s perspective, earning it a five-star rating.
🙂
Best wishes and a happy week further!
Pat
