#Seasonal #Poetry

irksome muggy heat
bristles for sudden showers
oppressive August

***

dahlias toss their heads
scented breeze brings a message
we’re ready to go

***

carpenter bees buzz
some survive on sunflowers
fireflies mate and die

summer dresses match
colorful beach umbrellas
waves welcome surfers

***

summer sounds snug here
ocean fog flaunts amity
eternal allure

  1. A fantastic homage to summer, Balroop. I especially love
    “summer dresses match
    colorful beach umbrellas”

I can just feel the ocean breeze! 🙂

  2. These are awesome, Balroop. They all evoke a sense of summer. I’m partial to the visual of sundresses and beach umbrellas, but oh, those sunflowers and dahlias are captivating. You aced the challenge.

  3. Balroop, these are all great! The first one made me think you don’t like the heat haha! It’s been very hot here in Arizona this summer. Your book is lined up in my Kindle, by the way. There are a few ahead :/.

    1. You are right. I’ve never liked summer. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I am glad my book is on your reading list. Happy reading. 😊🤗

      1. I thought so! I love summer, but only because my childhood summers were so beautiful (in Michigan). Summers here in Arizona are just awful.

      2. Here, the summers are comfortable, with ocean breeze coming just after two days of heat but my dislike is rooted in the many hot and humid summers of New Delhi!

  4. Like raindrops in August, Balroop.
I enjoyed your latest poetry too.
    I thought:
“Fusion” is the latest poetry collection by Singh, focusing on the connections between humans and nature as well as human relationships.

What I loved is that Singh’s poems are accessible yet profound. The collection touches on themes of grief and the coronavirus but is primarily filled with uplifting and encouraging poems.
Singh’s poetry often concludes with a satisfying reflection on the journey or the speaker’s personal growth.

This collection offers an enjoyable and heartfelt glimpse into the author’s perspective, earning it a five-star rating.

    🙂
Best wishes and a happy week further!
    Pat
