drenched in memories
I look at our precious cup,
symbol of our love
a reminder of good times
when our love blossomed,
hands met inadvertently
to mold this love cup
with design of subtle cracks
pleasures of ceramic class!

This week, Tanka Tuesday challenge explores Ekphrastic poetry, inspired by works of art.
I have written two chōka poems. A chōka is a nine-line poem with 5-7-5-7-5-7-5-7-7 syllable count. Thanks to Colleen and Rebecca Budd’s blog, Chasing Art for an inspiring painting.
Thank you.

Thank you Vera. Have a wonderful day.
These are lovely poems, Balroop. I like how the cup and rose brought up the theme of relationships for you. It does feel as if someone left that cup and flower for another person to find.
I wonder why this beautiful cup holds just water! I could only add a little lemon juice to keep it authentic. 😀 Thank you Diana for your lovely words of encouragement.

These are fabulous chōka poems, Balroop. I love how you used to cup to represent a marriage ceremony symbol. It’s perfect for the painting!
Thank you Colleen, I am glad you liked the idea of this cup being a symbol of a meaningful relationship. 🥰
Both poems are beautiful, Balroop! I see so much warm memories and relationship in this cup and the flower on the platter. Your first poem reminds me of the ceramic classes my daughter and I took when she was nine. We still have those precious ceramic pieces.
