Beyond Time #Words Challenge

“Random word poetry is something that Jane Dougherty started writing last year. I think this is a great way to find inspiration, so let’s try it,” says Colleen. She has generated a list of 100 random words. The idea is to read through the words, searching for a word that sparks your inspiration. If you want to join the fun, click here for the word list. Thank you for the inspiration Colleen.

Beyond Time

On the curving edge of time
Sneak moments, shimmering with light,
Gliding with ease, still alive,
Eloquent beyond words and I watch…

They keep coming back
To warm our hearts, to harmonize,
To illumine the truths we forget –
Waves of life keep tossing.

We pursue a walking mirror
That echoes eclectic charms
Birthday delights, innocent chatter
Games that governed our hours.

Sometimes I pretend to fall
Into the hourglass of time
Clocks stand still but I walk
To inhale the odor of an old oasis.

  1. Amazing poetry, Balroop. I love this challenge and the combination of free-form and syllabic poetry. The word list was an interesting touch and is creating lots of variety. Your poetry is beautiful.

    1. Thank you Diana, you are so generous with your words. Challenges direct my thoughts and it’s easier to write even without any inspiration. 😀

  2. Beautifully done,Balroop ji…I loved the sentiment in the first two stanzas…sneak moments coming to remind us the truths we forget.

      1. It’s my pleasure,Balroop ji. I hope to be more regular in my reading this year. You’re right…’realism tells its own story.’ It’s how one narrates it;that matters. I loved the simplicity with which this poem flowed.

  3. Loved you poem on Beyond Time Balroop.. Oh to fall into the Hourglass of time Balroop and make it stand still for a while…. 🙂 Already January gone… Sending LOVE and well wishes… ❤

    1. Hourglass has always fascinated me, I wish we could fall into it and change a few events according to our wish. 😀 Thank you for the visit Sue. I am glad you liked Beyond Time.

  4. I love the concept of random word poetry and I love what you’ve done with it.
A haunting and beautiful poem, Balroop. Just exquisite!

    1. Thank you Mae for such a lovely feedback. Words don’t inspire me, I’ve tried to take this challenge this time. I am glad that I could sail through them.
