colors
rock our cradle
we are bubbles of joy
life sounds sublime initially
carefree!
yellow
and green mingle
to welcome the first steps
butterflies add charm and magic
gleeful!
crimson
flutters young hearts
new passion reigns supreme
love gets a new connotation
blissful!
Darker
shades permeate
Black and gray dominate
Shadows hover around to scare
eerie.
ashen
and pale jolt us
but life keeps on smiling
if we let the woeful clouds pass
souls merge.

Thanks to Colleen for a weekly TankaTuesday challenge, which asks for any syllabic form based on the theme prompt. This week’s theme is “Transitions.” I’ve again tried a new form of poetry.
This poem is a Crown Cinquain, five stanzas, each with syllable count of 2/4/6/8/2.
Thanks for the inspiration Colleen.

Beautiful. I like the positive vibes of the starting lines-
“colors
rock our cradle
we are bubbles of joy
life sounds sublime initially
carefree”
Thank you Arv. Life gives us so much, what we embrace is our choice. I prefer positivity and joy.
truly
What a wonderful message, Balroop. From beginning to end, this was wonderful! Thank you for sharing such lovely words!
I am glad the message of choosing is reaching out through my words Mae. Choices make us what we become. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. 😊
Beautiful. I absolutely love those last two lines! A much needed message for sure. Well done, Balroop 💕🙂
Thank you Harmony, the journey of life ends beautifully if souls merge, that’s how they stay together forever. 😊
💖
Beautiful poetry, Balroop. I love the way this form can tell a story. I loved that the journey of life ended on such a sublimely beautiful note. ❤
The beauty of life is difficult to capture in words Diana. This form sounded as challenging as the hues of life but the resolve to try various forms kept me going. I am glad you like it. Thank you! 🤗
Fantastic poem on colours, Balroop. They tell a story of their own.

They are 🙂

Thank you Lisa, love your feedback. Syllable poetry writing is very challenging but it is satisfying when you can steer through it. I am glad you like it.
Awesome writing Balroop! Really enjoyed it ❤ ❤
Thank you for coming over to read my poetry, I am delighted to see you here.
Your poem is a very beautiful progression of transitions, and I love how you brought a cheerful and positive outlook to this inevitability of life. You literally and figuratively added and reminded of beautiful colors of life that we live with.
Colors have a special relationship with emotions Prag, that’s why I have tried to bring them in. If you look at the first and last word of each stanza, they link both of them. 😊 Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
“If you look at the first and last word of each stanza,” – thank you for pointing this out. I read your poem again and appreciated it newly. Truly beautiful how you integrated different layers and aspects together.
Thank you Prag, love your words. 🥰🤗
What a great use of imagery and a soul touching piece. Your creativity is simply amazing, Balroop dear.
Thank you! I am delighted to hear that. 😊

Thanks Jacqui. Colors and emotions are inter-related. 😊
That crown cinquain works well with the crescendo of colors that end softly with such a vital but if… “if we let the woeful clouds pass”. Well done!
Thank you D. I am delighted to hear that you like it. 😊
Look at you go, Balroop! Your crown cinquain with the theme of transitions is wonderfully presented. The last stanza really comes out and grabs me. I love the message of continuing to look on the bright side of life. Well done, my dear friend. ❤
