Their frenzy whirled with them
Eons of wilderness within
Seasons watched in awe
Shrubs shrank to pay obeisance
Berry Terry and Merry,
The silent survivors of friendship
Who couldn’t convince the world
How dance drew them together
Frowned upon and hacked
They didn’t leave though
Love for dance still binds them
With eerie elongated arms
Free from societal ensnares now
Unseen by brutal beasts
They meet at their favorite haunt
And dance each night to glory.
Who can suppress love?

Fabulous Balroop.. a tough prompt but you brought it to life.. hugs
Thank you Sally. Some prompts just ignite your thoughts and words flow spontaneously. This is one of those. Hugs back to you.
Love what you brought out of the picture, Balroop:) I can see the dance now.
My words twirled with them and I had a hard time settling them down. 🙂 Thanks Denise.
🙂
It’s amazing how you can create poems from pictures. Indeed the hay stacks looks like they are dancing.
Thank you for your kind compliment arv. Sometimes imagination works wonders.
I agree.. creative minds are wired differently. I experience something similar in photography. If the subject is interesting, you feel like capturing more and more… 😊
So true! 🙂
🙂
So creative!!
Thank you Shaloo.
Cool poem, Balroop. It has the feel of folklore and fairy magic. Well done!
Thanks Diana, no fairies but unsatiated souls.
A delightful poem, Balroop, and a must unexpected usage of the prompt.
Thanks Robbie.
This is a fun one. Excellent response to the prompt and the photo. Reminds me of ghosts in the night who continue their dance ritual 🙂
Yep! You are right Lisa. Thank you.
Unique, FUN, full of motion and hidden angst even. I think I might even want to dance with Berry, Terry, and Merry.
Thanks Pam, I am glad you saw the angst too. 🤗
Amazing, Balroop! ❤
Thanks Bette 😊
Oooh, I loved this tale you’ve spun, perfect for the photo Balroop. 🙂
I loved this, Balroop… it captures something of tragedy, something of legend and much of love.
Thanks Sue…all hues of life!
The last line is wonderful!
