I could hear the waves
Whispering softly into my ears.
I could see them breaking at my feet
Tugging at my heart.
I could discern the echo
Reverberating all around me.
I could envision their calling
Loving invitation into their arms.
I could feel the sweep
Getting carried by their stroke.
I could hold the breezy touch
Caressing my fingertips.
I could embrace the love
Profound and intensely distinctive.
I could experience the peace
Twirling with them, again and again.
I could sense the solace
Of merging into the unknown.
The unknown blue, enveloping all
The luring love, alluring all.

To experience solace on merging into the unknown is true spiritual bliss. Your words have given the reader just that Balroop!
Thank you Radhika, some words write themselves and you wonder how they came…that is what I call spiritual bliss, which hits you at times. I am sure you can relate to this feeling.
This is really beautiful, Balroop. Thank you for sharing with us. ❤
Thanks Jill, the pleasure is mine. 🙂
Feeling swept away, Balroop… Nature’s calling has a marvelous way to woo us from worldly cares. Lovely…
What a beautiful response! Love and hugs dear Bette 😊
I like the fact that you have used waves to express both pull and push. That is one unique feature of waves crashing on the shore. Isn’t it something like human love? There are times when we love, we express anger, we retort, scold and so on. It is like the same side of a coin.
Interesting! I like your analysis arv, human love undoubtedly encompasses all those emotions that you have linked to the waves breaking at the shore. Thanks for your insight.
Happy to share 🙂
This is such a peaceful and lovely poem Balroop. You penned beautifully my feelings when I face the sea.
Stay well and keep sharing your love my friend.

I’m reading your poem while listening to the British Parliament fight over Brexit. I’ll take your poem any day.

Thanks for posting this, Balroop. One of my favorites from this beautiful book. “I could experience the peace
Twirling with them, again and again.” Bliss.

YES, and mostly at the ocean shore while watching the waves. And collecting shells and pretty, tiny rocks with magical colors. 🙂
Wow! It seems you got transported to the seashore! Thanks Lisa 🤗♥️
Lovely poem, Balroop. Yes, being in nature in all its settings feels like an invitation. 🙂

What amazing timing to hear from you and come over and read that poem. Just minutes prior my brain and emotions were assimilating these beautiful, wonderful friends from the past. Then yes I did feel a merging and possibly even a convergence within. My blessings always to you Balroop! 🙂
Thanks Mike, ‘old is gold’… this dictum can never lose its sheen. 😊 Nice to see you.
I have to hand it to WordPress, or at least my community here, you folks always hit on the very topics I’ve been deeply contemplating, myself. I am awake at midnight unable to sleep for the events of the day and the hard rains beating on metal rooftops. Writing about merging with the landscape in my blogging journal – just wrote a comment on my last post to a woman I knew in Maine years ago. She’s very in tune with the earth, as am I. Talking about the winter there, how the weather hit me for years like I was a granite boulder having my edges smoothed from years of glacial ice and snowpack. So yes, in answer to your question, I have long merged with my surroundings(!) What a lovely offering, Balroop! ❤
Thank you for such a heartfelt response to my question Bela. Poets possess the intuition to pick up vibes from the surroundings! How can you be different dear friend. 😊 Many thanks for reading and sharing your reflections ♥️
I tend to feel more at home in the places I love than people. Places are more predictable in many ways.
True! Thanks for feeling the thought within this poem. 😊
Indeed there is such a wonderful exchange of emotions with the surrounding when we are out in the glory of nature. The moment we step out into the heart of nature…there is whisper we don’t otherwise hear. It keeps calling. The sea shore, it has its own charm and the unending vastness spread in front of us takes our breathe away and the rhythmic flow of the waves hitting the shore with its own motion makes our emotion go crazy. We get lost in the magical flow of nature and its bounty of beauty harbored across the shorelines. The slow steps we take on the sands and the footprints we leave behind. The caressing of our feet with the waves and the playful nature of sand and water, there is a game of hide and seek, sand tries to hold onto its ground and the water takes the grip out of the ground. As we stand and observes this little phenomena happening around our feet we feel floated in the ocean of brewing emotions…the old memories come gushing out of our memory bank. There is that space of solitude and there is that world of unknown standing in front of us, we cross each other with reassuring solace and there is that spark of joy. We get immersed in the surrounding and we can hear our inner voice and there is that conversation that we keep missing in the home and out in our work place, much away from the nature.
As always a joy reading such lovely poems of yours Balroop and lots to take away, I cherish every moment staying here. Just that I have been really bad at managing my time.
😀
Hiiiiiii 🙂
So this poem of yours made my day. A lot of times I imagine myself in this surrounding but can never write down my feelings. You are amazing you penned beautifully my feelings when I face the sea. Thank you so much. This poem is a pleasure to read.

Thank you for sharing the pull Vashti…the love of Mother Nature is celestial, in all her forms. 🙂
I agree, my friend. 🙂
The solace of merging into the unknown…yes, I’ve felt it while standing on a mountain overlooking the green valley deep down, while standing in front of the ever-enthusiastic ocean. If only, if only I could!
Your poems develop a feeling of peace sometimes… kudos…
I am delighted to hear that Mani… ocean evokes emotions that are hard to explain, I have made a little effort 😊
